After breaking ground last week on Cambria Hotel Ocean City, a 133-key development in Ocean City, Md., Choice Hotels International has signed an agreement with Sound West Group to develop a new Cambria Hotel in Bremerton, Wash. The property will be part of a mixed-use waterfront development on Marina Square.

Located at 232 Washington Ave., the 121-key lodging project is scheduled to open in 2019. Dubbed the Cambria Hotel Bremerton Island, the property will feature amenities such as a rooftop deck with 180-degree views of Puget Sound, meeting space, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a pool, a spa, onsite dining and underground parking.

“The Cambria brand is on the move, and the Cambria Hotel Bremerton Island represents our continued expansion throughout the country and our growing presence on the west coast,” said Mark Shalala, vice president, Development, upscale brands at Choice Hotels, in prepared remarks. “This Cambria hotel, with its prime waterfront location, picturesque views and upscale amenities, is a truly unique option for guests visiting the area. With their expert knowledge of the Puget Sound region, Sound West Group is the ideal collaborator on this project.”

The hotel will be adjacent to the Bremerton Marina and Kitsap Conference Center, offering convenience to conferences and events. Nearby attractions include the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard; three champion golf courses Gold Mountain, Trophy Lake and McCormick Woods; as well as a short ferry ride to downtown Seattle.
