Coca-Cola Bottling Co. UNITED closed a transaction with The Coca-Cola Co., expanding its metro Atlanta footprint. The deal included seven Coca-Cola locations and two production plants in Georgia.

The deal follows UNITED’s signing of letters in 2015 to acquire Coca-Cola’s Georgia locations in Athens, Dublin, Gainesville, Jasper, Lawrenceville, Macaon, Rome and metropolitan Atlanta, as well as the production plants in College Park and Marietta.

The transaction will enable UNITED to produce and distribute Coca-Cola beverages in metro Atlanta. The company has added roughly 200 new jobs, in addition to the 2,000 associates who have joined UNITED through this acquisition. The firm plans to invest approximately $25 million on equipment, facilities and its delivery fleet in Georgia. Additionally, in the coming years, UNITED intends to pump another $100 million in local capital investments in the Atlanta region.
