BostonColliers International recently announced the promotion of James Elcock as president. After joining the company more than three decades ago, Elcock’s most recent position was EVP & managing partner with Colliers International New England. In his new position, he will spearhead the company’s brokerage activity both in the downtown and suburban Boston markets.

“Jim is a high quality professional who has a long record of success within Colliers, having co-led the suburban brokerage team for many years,” said Tom Hynes, co-chairman & CEO of Colliers International Boston in prepared remarks.

Representing numerous property owners and closing in excess of 750 transactions totaling more than eight million square feet, Elcock concentrated his leasing and sales activities all throughout the Greater Boston Area. His client roster includes Cabot, Cabot & Forbes, ING Clarion, Liberty Mutual, Boston Properties, Blue Cross Blue Shield, New England Aquarium, Commonfund, and TechTarget.

Prior to joining Colliers in 1984, Elcock served Xerox in Connecticut for three years as marketing executive. He is a member of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board (GBREB) and of the Urban Land Institute in addition to serving as the chairman of Westwood’s Economic Development Advisory Board. Elcock holds a Bachelor of Arts from Providence College and is also the recipient of the 2003 GBREB Broker of the Year Award.
