Baltimore—28 Walker Development announced the lease of a 28,000-square foot space to Comcast Corp. in the Banner Building, part of the McHenry Row project, as Comcast plans to relocate approximately 140 employees from its White Marsh regional corporate office. Joe Nolan and David Fritz of NAI KLNB represented the owner, while Richie Blue of Blue & Obrecht Realty and Jeff Flynn of JLL represented the tenant.
The Banner Building, located at 1215 E. Fort Ave., is now fully occupied. The four-story, 215,000-square-foot, Class A office building is situated in an area with intense retail activity, providing direct connection to downtown Baltimore through Interstate 95. The structure was completely renovated and expanded in 2013, under the new ownership. McHenry Row is a 20-acre mixed-use property that features 300,000 square feet of commercial office space, 250 apartments and complementary restaurants and retailers, including a Harris Teeter grocery store.
“A reoccurring theme in corporate real estate searches is the desire among companies to select offices in locations that will help motivate, attract and retain employees,” said Nolan in prepared remarks.
