Prologis has launched construction on two Class A industrial facilities in the Los Angeles area totaling more than 346,000 square feet. The buildings are located in Vernon, a town with 56 million square feet of industrial space.
The industrial and logistics developer is building Prologis Vernon Business Center 1 and 2, containing roughly 114,000 square feet and 232,300 square feet, respectively. Both buildings are located at 5215 S. Boyle Avenue, five miles south of downtown Los Angeles. The location offers easy access to major freeways, downtown Los Angeles, LAX Airport and the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
Each facility will feature more than 10,000 square feet of corporate office build out, 36-foot clearance, ESFR sprinklers, concrete truck courts and 2.5 percent skylights. A Newmark Knight Frank team of John McMillan, Jeff Sanita, Danny Williams and Greg Stumm are handling leasing for the project.
“Prologis is excited to bring two new best-in-class industrial buildings to the Central Los Angeles submarket,” said Prologis Vice President & Leasing Officer Lisa Reddy in prepared remarks. “These state-of-the-art buildings will be leaders in this submarket due to their modern construction.”
As the industrial market has boomed, Prologis has been focusing on infill and securing properties near dense urban centers, as well as adding more data scientists to its ranks.
