Glasgow, Scotland—Marriott International has added the newly rebranded Courtyard Glasgow Airport to its Scotland portfolio. Located near the city’s airport and a 15-minute drive away from the city center, the 114-key hotel previously operated under the Ramada name.
Newcastle upon Tyne-based owner Cairn Group has made a multi-million dollar investment in the property’s extensive renovation. The refurbishment included all guestrooms, public areas, leisure facilities and The Bistro, a restaurant and bar venue. Featuring the latest Courtyard design, new hotel amenities consist of a flexible and engaging lobby space, a fully-equipped fitness center, a 24-hour market and a three-room business center. In addition, guests can use GoBoard—a unique Courtyard by Marriott concept using touchscreen technology—to research popular tourist attractions and access the latest airport information, including check-in options.
Cairn Group plans to add 56 more rooms to the Courtyard Glasgow Airport by mid-2017. This is the brand’s third hotel in Scotland, joining Courtyard Edinburgh, slated to open in December, and Aberdeen Airport, which debuted in 2013.
