Coworking Firm Venture X Expands in Europe

The shared workspace company, which has locations in 25 countries around the world, has agreed to bring its brand to the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Shared workspace provider Venture X is headed across the pond. The company will bring its brand to the U.K. and Ireland, adding to the firm’s existing locations in 25 countries across the globe. The membership-based coworking community was launched in 2012 and is a member of United Franchise Group.

The coworking firm has previously expanded its platform in the U.S., Canada and Australia. The U.S.-based firm first launched in 2012 and has since signed leases for more than 80 locations in 25 countries, with a short-term goal of opening 21 locations by the end of the second quarter 2019.

Expansion plans

The U.K. and Ireland rollout will be led by partners Andrew Ross and Tom Foster, who told Commercial Property Executive that they wanted to bring “something different” to these markets and London in particular, which has been at the forefront of product and innovation.

“London is the largest flexible workspace market in the world,” Ross and Foster told CPE. “The capital offers businesses an incredible breadth of product, and this permeates out to the rest of the country.”

Ross and Foster are focused on opening the London flagship of Venture X this year and will then turn their attention to Dublin and other major business hubs in the U.K. and Ireland.

“Venture X has also had great success in the U.S. reaching out to smaller, underserved business communities, which is something we will look to replicate here,” the partners said.

Last fall, the company expanded its lease in San Antonio by 7,600 square feet. Venture X has been at the Stone Oak location since 2017.
