Baltimore-based Continental Realty Corp. has named JD Brakefield as director of commercial property management. In his new role, he will oversee property management operations for the company’s entire commercial portfolio, which includes twelve shopping centers across four states.

Extensive experience

Brakefield comes from The Rappaport Cos., where he most recently served as senior property manager. CRC’s new director holds almost twenty years of industry experience, having previously worked for PREIT and Elysian Partners. He has graduated from Clarion University, having earned a bachelor of science degree in finance. Brakefield is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.

“JD brings extensive property management experience to our company, coupled with the demonstrated ability to manage significant capital projects, which represents an area of continued activity at CRC,” said David Donato, senior vice president of CRC, in prepared remarks. “His style is hands-on, and he has a track record as a problem-solver. JD is just what Continental needs at this point in the company’s growth.”
