Cushman & Wakefield’s Atlanta Office Joins WELL League
The company's office at 1180 Peachtree St. received the Silver level rating for its emphasis on employee health and wellness.
When Cushman & Wakefield consolidated its Atlanta operations to a 41-story Class A skyscraper in Midtown, the global property brokerage took pains to create a comfortable and engaging workspace for its employees—complete with a Gensler-designed reception area that contains a bar. Now the office has received WELL Certification at the Silver level from the International WELL Building Institute, recognizing the company’s efforts to promote health and wellness in the space.
The office at 1180 Peachtree St. is only the second project in Atlanta to receive WELL Certification, which is awarded under the WELL Building Standard, a performance-based system for measuring and accrediting a property’s impact on human health.
Cushman & Wakefield moved its operations into the new Atlanta premises last August. The skyscraper, developed by Hines in 2006, was the world’s first high-rise office building to be pre-certified LEED-CS Silver.
WELL’s third-party certification body subjected Cushman & Wakefield’s office to rigorous testing and evaluation before awarding the coveted rating. The office, which occupies two full floors, was recognized for its healthy features, including high air and water quality, thermal comfort, high-quality food supplied and ergonomic sit-stand workstations.
Cushman & Wakefield has also received the WELL Certification at the Silver level for its headquarters office in Chicago. Cushman & Wakefield consolidated its Chicago presence to four floors at 225 W. Wacker Drive in May 2017. The office also adheres to LEED and Energy Star certification requirements.
