Phoenix—Arizona-based Desert Vikings Development is planning the construction of a new project in Roosevelt Row, according to the Downtown Phoenix Journal. The development referred to as The Blocks of Roosevelt Row is slated for completion in late 2017, with portions delivering next spring.
Located at 501 E Roosevelt St., The Blocks of Roosevelt Row will consist of the adaptive use of three existing bungalow-style homes and the Flowers building, which is set to open in early 2017. The bungalows, initially constructed in early 1900’s, will be refurbished so as to preserve their historic character, while accommodating new restaurant concepts. The property will also include a market-style retail space. In addition, the company plans to construct a new three-story commercial building. The end result will be a mixed-use development which will include restaurants, bars, communal areas, market-style retail spaces, office space and a rooftop entertainment space.
The master plan for the development project was completed by Phoenix-based AV3 Design Studios, which is also in charge of the design of the 5th Street and Roosevelt properties. The 6th Street project is being handled by Lightvox Studio. Leasing of the project will be led by full-service real estate brokerage and advisory firm Venture REI.
In addition to The Blocks of Roosevelt Row, Desert Viking has acquired and/or rehabilitated more than 20 National Register of Historic Places properties and completed various mixed-use projects throughout the Phoenix metro area.
