UNIQLO─a global apparel retailer─is set to open a 12,000-square-foot store in Downtown Los Angeles. This marks UNIQLO’s first store downtown and ninth in the region. The new shop will open this fall.
At 700 S. Flower St., the store is in the heart of Los Angeles, alongside Freeway 110 and positioned across from the metro lines on the Seventh Street/Metro Center. UNIQLO will occupy the seventh floor of The Bloc, a 1.8 million-square-foot mixed-use property, featuring 420,000 square feet of open-air, urban retail space. The building is 90 percent occupied and hosts a mix of national retailers, entertainment destinations and provides various dining options, such as Macy’s and Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. According to the Downton Center Business Improvement District’s report on Downtown LA Survey 2018, approximately 65,000 people live in the area with an average income of around $98,900.
“We welcome UNIQLO to our outstanding roster of tenants, which further positions The Bloc as one of the leading retail and entertainment centers in the city, an important anchor to downtown’s ongoing transformation, and a prominent destination for shoppers, office workers, and visitors,” said Jeff Kanne, president & CEO of National Real Estate Advisors, in prepared remarks.
