EDF Relocates Houston Office to 601 Travis St.
CBRE and Colville Office Properties represented the two parties in the lease agreement. Other tenants at 601 Travis St. include Dynegy, Bank of New York Mellon and NextEra.

CBRE announced that EDF Trading North America, EDF Energy Services and their affiliates have signed a new lease agreement to relocate their Houston office to 601 Travis St. in the city’s central business district.

According to Yardi Matrix data, EDF will occupy 60,000 square feet in the 20-story, 407,896-square-foot tower located at Capitol and Travis Streets. Architect I.M. Pei designed the building. Other tenants include Dynegy, Bank of New York Mellon and NextEra.
CBRE’s Matt Dickson and Kevin Kushner represented EDF in the lease negotiations with the landlord, Hariri Interests. Paula Bruns and Michael Anderson, both of Colvill Office Properties, represented the owner.
“EDF asked CBRE to find a new office that could accommodate its high-density trading floor. We identified several creative options throughout Houston and 601 Travis fit the best with EDF’s goals,” Dickson said in prepared remarks.
“With this transaction, EDF has made a significant investment in Houston and its employees,” Kushner added. “The company was extremely thorough; the time and effort EDF spent on this transaction will be rewarded with a great result when the company moves into its new space.”
