The total number of employed people from August 2016 to August 2017 increased by 1.2 percent, or 1,772 people, while the total number of unemployed people decreased by 8.9 percent, or 709 people.

The total number of employed people from August 2016 to August 2017 increased by 1.2 percent, or 1,772 people, while the total number of unemployed people decreased by 8.9 percent, or 709 people. Year-over-year, the largest difference for employment was in the Transportation and Material Moving occupations, with a rise of 4.3 percent. Following that were increases for Office and Administrative Support (3.6%) and Production, Transportation and Material Moving (2.5%). For unemployment, the most significant decrease was in the Transportation and Material Moving occupations with 23.1 percent, followed by Sales and Related Occupations (-12.9%) and Production, Transportation and Material Moving (-12.6%). The overall unemployment rate dropped 10 percent year-over-year.
