Former Obama Aide Joins Hilton in Top Communications Role

Washington—Hilton has appointed former White House Senior Advisor & top U.S. Senate aide Katie Beirne Fallon as the company’s new senior vice president & global head of corporate affairs. Fallon will report to President & CEO Christopher Nassetta and serve as member of the executive committee.

“As we continue to gain momentum and accelerate our growth around the world, finding additional ways to connect and engage with our most critical stakeholders becomes even more important,” Nassetta said in a statement.

Fallon has held several senior roles in policy and communications in Washington over the past decade. She most recently served as director of legislative affairs & senior advisor to the President under the Obama administration, a position she took on in 2013. Prior to that, Fallon held the roles of deputy communications director & deputy assistant to the President; staff director and legislative director in the U.S. Senate for Senator Charles Schumer; deputy staff director for policy in the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee; and policy director in the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

Katie Beirne Fallon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Notre Dame, and a Master of Arts degree in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Fallon resigned from the White House in February 2016 and was replaced by her former deputy, Amy Rosenbaum, according to The New York Times. She is married to Brian Edward Fallon Jr., who served as national press secretary for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.

“Katie is widely admired by both high-ranking Republicans and Democrats, and her unique perspective on the strategic intersection between communications and policy will help us strengthen the Hilton brand and drive value for the business,” said Nassetta.
