Cushman & Wakefield has arranged a new lease on behalf of George P. Johnson at a 62-story landmark office building in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. The experiential marketing agency will occupy 26,759-square feet at its new location at 200 Clarendon St.

The Class A+ office tower encompasses roughly 1.7 million square feet and is LEED Gold certified. Dubbed 200 Clarendon, the all-glass property is New England’s tallest building and features a 360-degree view of Boston. On-site amenities include 24-hour security, a private underground parking garage, café and coffee bar, FedEx and UPS, as well as Bank of America ATM services.

Efficient representation

Barry Hynes and Malcolm See of Cushman & Wakefield’s Boston office, alongside Jon Gorczyca and Nathan Piehl, of the firm’s Los Angeles office, represented GPJ in the lease negotiations. The team of Jim Davis and Alex Magyar—also with Cushman & Wakefield—provided project and development services for the buildout of the tenant’s new space, which is relocating from 711 Atlantic Ave.

“This new location puts us right in the heart of Boston and Copley Square with more space and amenities than we had before,” George P. Johnson CEO Chris Meyer said in prepared remarks. “This is the perfect area for a bustling and creative company like George P. Johnson,” added Hynes.

According to Yardi Matrix, Boston Properties acquired 200 Clarendon from Normandy Real Estate Partners in 2010. The REIT shelled out $930 million for the trophy building.
