Gramercy Property Trust Appoints New CIO

Nicholas Pell joined the company in 2012 and has since closed more than 100 real estate deals totaling roughly $3 billion.

New York—Gramercy Property Trust has announced the appointment of Managing Director Nicholas Pell as the company’s new chief investment officer, effective immediately.

With more than nine years of experience of investing in real estate assets in markets across the U.S. and Canada, Pell has been instrumental in growing Gramercy into a market leader in the industrial net lease space industry. Since joining the company, his team has closed more than 100 real estate transactions totaling approximately $3 billion.

“This is a well-deserved promotion recognizing Nick’s key role and his significant contribution to the success of Gramercy,” Gordon DuGan, Gramercy CEO, said in a prepared statement.

Before joining Gramercy in July 2012, Pell served as a director in the Investment Department at W.P. Carey. Prior to that, he held positions as director of business development at Sony Pictures Entertainment and analyst with J.P. Morgan & Co.

Nicholas Pell holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Duke University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Harvard Business School.
