Malta—Hard Rock International announced plans to open its third European resort, this time in Malta. The project will be part of a new mixed-use development called db City Centre, offering a shopping mall, luxury residences and office space. Hard Rock Hotel Malta will be developed in collaboration with Malta-based Seabank Group.

The 370-key hotel will feature high-end food and beverage options, including a multi-course restaurant and a rooftop lounge with Skybar; a 16,000-square-foot full-service Rock Spa; a state-of-the-art Body Rock fitness center and 37,000 square feet of function space, including the largest convention center on the island.

From construction to its completion in 2020, the project is expected to have created 1,500 new jobs.

Malta draws in travelers from around the world given its central Mediterranean location, idyllic charm, rich cultural history and vast array of activities—from scuba diving to exploring prehistoric temples—we are thrilled to be part of a project that will provide travelers and locals with the country’s first true entertainment destination,” said Marco Roca, executive vice president of Global Hotel Development at Hard Rock International, in prepared remarks.
