Bucharest–Hilton Worldwide, one of the biggest hotel operators in the world, recently announced that its first Hilton Garden Inn hotel is scheduled to open in Romania in 2017. Hilton has reached a franchise agreement with SC Apex Alliance 1 S.R.L. to open Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Old Town.
The 201-key Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Old Town will be located in a historic building on Doamnei Street and will feature a contemporary restaurant and 24-hour fitness center. The hotel will be within walking distance from the city’s main attractions, including The National Museum of Art, Union Square, Cișmigiu Gardens as well as Old Town’s diverse venues and restaurants.
“Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Old Town provides an incredible opportunity to sensitively preserve the façade of a historic city centre building, whilst incorporating a quality contemporary hotel within–a strategy which we are deploying to great success in European cities including Moscow, Paris, London and Szczecin,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president of development, EMEA, Hilton Worldwide.
Romania is already home to five Hilton Worldwide hotels under three different brands including the five-star Athenee Palace Bucharest, Hilton Sibiu, Hampton by Hilton Cluj-Napoca, Doubletree by Hilton Oradea and Doubletree by Hilton Bucharest, making Hilton Garden Inn the brand’s debut in the city as well as the country.
Hilton’s Garden Inn brand has more than 100 properties either open or under development in EMEA, with recent openings in Milan, Malaga, Istanbul and Dubai.
