Chicago—Chicago is getting ready for the winter holidays season with a new hotel property in the trendy West Loop area, as Hilton announced last week the opening of Hampton Inn by Hilton Chicago Downtown West Loop and Homewood Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown West Loop on North Jefferson.
Located at 116 North Jefferson St. between Randolph and Washington, the 336-key dual-branded property was constructed and is owned by a joint venture between local developer Jupiter Realty Co. and InterContinental Real Estate Corp. of Boston. Both hotels are managed by Hostmark Hospitality Group.
“Chicago has presented a prime opportunity for expansion, coming on the heels of a record-breaking year for Chicago tourism in 2015,” said in prepared remarks Phil Cordell, global head of Focused Service and Hampton Brand Management at Hilton. “This dual-branded Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton located in downtown Chicago’s West Loop diversifies our presence in the market while providing travelers comfortable and value-driven options.”
Standing 24 stories above ground, the 301,624-square-foot property designed by VOA encompasses a 210-key Hampton Inn and a 126-key Homewood Suites by Hilton. The combo hotel also includes more than 6,200 square feet of meeting space, roughly 7,500 square feet of ground-floor restaurant and retail space, as well as 117 parking spaces. There are two separate lobbies for each hotel, with two separate check-in desks and dining areas. Hotel amenities include free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour business center, fitness center, indoor pool and sundeck.
The combo building is within walking distance of the Ogilvie Transportation Center and Union Station and just one mile from all the shopping destinations on the Magnificent Mile. Nearby attractions include the Willis Tower, The Chicago Riverwalk and The Chicago Theatre District.
