Hines and Salesforce have topped out on the 60-story Salesforce Tower Chicago, a 1.2 million-square-foot office building in downtown Chicago. The building will open in the first quarter of 2023 and Salesforce will occupy 500,000 square feet. In 2017, Bank of America provided a $216 million loan for the development, according to CommercialEdge.

Located on one of the city’s last remaining riverfront sites, the high-rise is part of the Wolf Point masterplan. Designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, Wolf Point is slated to include, besides the office tower, two luxury apartment buildings, 2.5 acres of landscaped park as well as 1,000 linear feet of river frontage.

Located at 333 Wolf Point Plaza, the property is less than 2 miles from the Lake Michigan waterfront, surrounded by several transportation, retail, dining and entertainment options.

The property is the first office tower ever to achieve a 19 percent reduction in carbon emissions, by following Hines’ Embodied Carbon Reduction Guide, according to the company. The high-rise will feature roughly 25,000 square feet of retail space, while amenities will include a fitness center, conference center and lounge.

Active across many U.S. markets, Hines is in the process of constructing another environmentally friendly and sustainable mixed-use project in Nashville.
