Conagra Brands has selected Hines to redevelop part of its Omaha, Neb. campus. The redevelopment, expected to occur over the next decade, will include residential units, a hotel, restaurants, office and green spaces. Hines expects to break ground around early summer 2019 and selected Bear Properties to assist with the project.
The redevelopment area is targeted to include 1 ConAgra Drive, the parking lot on Farnam Street and various open spaces along 10th Street. The project will extend to Heartland of America Park. All 1,200 Conagra employees will remain on the campus, as four buildings and the corresponding parking lots are not part of the project. Three of the buildings were remodeled last year when the company relocated its headquarters to Chicago and downsized their Nebraska operations. The other asset is leased to third parties.
“We know that the redevelopment project and its prime riverfront access is important to the city, Conagra Brands and its workforce, as well as businesses that occupy the property,” Tom D’Arcy, Hines senior managing director, said in a prepared statement. “The project will improve access to the lake and create a community for those who want to live, work and play in downtown Omaha.”
Earlier this year, Hines teamed up with Diversified Real Estate Capital and Big Bay Realty to build T3 Groove Island, a 270,000-square-foot Chicago office development.
