Edison Properties’ new location includes more than 100,000 square feet of highly amenitized space across three floors in a historic Midtown Manhattan building.
Edison Properties, which operates Workspace Offices, has opened ElevatedNY in Midtown Manhattan’s Hippodrome building, located at 1120 Avenue of the Americas. The coworking space encompasses more than 100,000 square feet on the building’s fourth, 15th and 18th floors. It previously operated as shared office space for more than 25 years under the name of ReadySet! Offices.
ElevatedNY includes newly remodeled offices featuring marble floors, artwork, soundproof conference pods and upgraded bathroom facilities. The location has 23 full office suites reaching as much as 5,100 square feet, 163 smaller private office units, updated conference rooms, common areas and cafe/lounge spaces.
Tenant amenities include full reception and concierge services, a dedicated mothers’ room, event space, monthly networking events and access to complimentary coffee, tea, sparkling water and other beverages. The on-site management team can arrange payroll, health benefits, parking, in-suite construction, hotel, car-sharing and storage services for the tenants.
Building with a past
The Hippodrome was completed in 1905 and served as a famous theatre until 1939. It was redeveloped into an office building and purchased by its current landlord in 1978. Renovations executed in 2006 resulted in a glass curtain wall and a two-story lobby clad in marble and limestone. Building amenities include landlord-managed security, cleaning, parking and on-site conference facilities. On-site retailers include Chase Bank, Fidelity, FedEx, AT&T, Gregory’s Coffee and Proper Foods.
Midtown Manhattan is a popular market for flexible space operators. While major players such as WeWork lease out entire buildings for their ballooning footprint, smaller companies are expanding their operations at a similarly fast pace.
