The Hotel del Coronado is joining the Curio Collection by Hilton. The National Historic Landmark hotel was hand-picked to be a part of the collection as it celebrated its 130-year anniversary.

The Iconic Del

Located at 1500 Orange Ave. in Coronado, Calif., the 757-key hotel often referred to as The Del, includes 78 luxury villas and cottages at Beach Village, features seven beachfront dining options, a spa and salon that features a private terrace with a vanishing-edge pool and the signature Beach Spin and Mermaid fitness classes. Other services include water sports such as surfing and paddle boarding, 47 meeting venues ranging from 3,000 to 12,500 square feet, wedding and group retreats, a business center, a lounge and valet parking and electric car charging stations. The hotel is also pet friendly.

“What a landmark day for Curio Collection by Hilton, as we welcome one of the world’s most celebrated and storied hotels,” said Mark Nogal, global head of Curio Collection by Hilton, in prepared remarks. “We look forward to continuing the authentic tradition of Hotel del Coronado while the hotel establishes its place as a true gem in our growing collection of hotels and resorts that are remarkable destinations unto themselves.”

Local attractions include the San Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park, SeaWorld, Aquatica San Diego, Balboa Park, Gaslamp Quarter, USS Midway Museum, Old Town San Diego, LEGOLAND and Belmont Park.

The Curio Collection is continuing its expansion. Back in March, Hilton added the three-story, 66-key Pier 5 Hotel Baltimore to the collection.
