Women in commercial real estate expressed a moderate level of concern and held a shared belief that a short or mild recession may be on the horizon, according to a recent survey among CREW Network members. Half of the respondents admitted they were experiencing more difficulties with deal closures than usual, while those active in real estate development said they were increasingly choosing to pause due to the high interest rate environment and reflect on the best timing for a new project.

“Flexibility and being thoughtful about how we’re going to proceed will be the key to the next ‘slowcession,’ recession or whatever we’re up for,” Alyssa Dangler, CREW Network President and Williams Mullen shareholder, told Commercial Property Executive Senior Editor Laura Calugar in the latest episode of the CREW Up podcast series.
