AWAY Travel has signed a ten-year lease for 56,000 square feet of space at HSRC’s 82 Mercer St., in Manhattan. The travel and lifestyle brand will occupy the building’s entire lower and third floor, as well as space on the second floor, relocating from 419 Lafayette St., in order to accommodate its business expansion.

The 140,000-square-foot, five-story office building, also known as 503-511 Broadway, is in SoHo. Nearby amenities include retailers, banks, museums, cafes and various accommodation and public transportation options.

The landlord recently renovated the asset and implemented a white box, which highlights its 15-foot-high exposed ceilings, exposed brick walls and archways, hardwood floors and cast-iron columns. Additionally, HSRC added a new lobby on the Broadway side of the building. Notable tenants include Heng Sang Realty and Zara, which occupies nearly 50,000 square feet.

Newmark Knight Frank President of New York Tri-State Region David Falk, Senior Managing Director Eric Cagner, Associate Director Jon Franzel and Associate Alex Leopold represented the owner in the transaction. Sinvin Real Estate’s Christopher Owles and Matthew Girard acted on behalf of the tenant. The lease brings the property’s office occupancy to full capacity, leaving 10,000 square feet of vacant retail space.

We recognized early on that 82 Mercer offered today’s creative tenant an A+ location for the quality of life that a company wants for their employees,” Cagner said in a prepared statement.
