The first Hyatt Centric-branded hotel in the world has opened in downtown Chicago. Hyatt Hotels Corp. recently announced the official opening of Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago, a 257-room full-service hotel in the heart of downtown.
Located at 100 W. Monroe St. in close proximity to popular Chicago destinations such as Millennium Park, Grant Park, McCormick Place Expo Center and State Street, Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago targets “modern explorers” – leisure and business travelers who view their hotel as more than just a place to stay. The hotel offers 257 guest rooms and 13 suites in a 1927 art deco building designed by Frank Chase and renovated into a new lifestyle hotel. According to a news release, the hotel is owned by Integrated Clark Monroe LLC and managed by Interstate Hotels & Resorts.
The 22-story Hyatt Centric is an adaptive reuse project, the first in a series of more than 15 Centric-branded hotels scheduled to open in 2015. The hotel incorporates 2,513 square feet of meeting space, a state-of-the-art fitness center and multiple dining options, including a rooftop bar and an upscale French bistro.
“Everything about this property has been thoughtfully crafted to reflect the local culture and history, as well as to ensure our guests have everything they need and occasional extras to make their experience special,” said Karen McGuigan, general manager of Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago. “The hotel is a home base, preparing travelers to explore the best Chicago has to offer.”
