Hyatt Place Opens First Edmonton-Area Hotel
The hotel brings the brand’s intuitive design, casual atmosphere and practical amenities to the Edmonton area.

Alberta, Canada—Hyatt Hotels Corp. celebrated the opening of Hyatt Place Edmonton/Downtown on Oct. 27. Conveniently located in downtown Edmonton, in Alberta, the 11-story hotel offers 255 guestrooms, free Wi-Fi, 13,000 square feet of meeting space, a 24-hour gym and 24-hour food offerings for guests, all while incorporating the Hyatt Place brand’s intuitive design, casual atmosphere and practical amenities.
“As Edmonton continues to grow and thrive economically, we are excited to add to the momentum by welcoming the first Hyatt Place hotel to the area,” said Owner Prem Singhmar of AUM Hotel Group, in prepared remarks.
“With our smartly designed social spaces and guestrooms with separate areas to work and sleep, Hyatt Place Edmonton/Downtown offers multitasking travelers the room they need, and our free hot breakfast is just the thing to get our guests going in the morning.”
Hyatt Place is under the leadership of Steve White, director of operations and Rachel Macknee, director of sales and marketing.
