INTERNATIONAL: Infosys, Skanska Sign Record-Breaking Office Lease in Poland

Infosys BPO Poland has taken 226,000 square feet of office space with Skanska in the largest office lease in Poland so far for 2014.

Infosys Green Horizon in Lodz, Poland Lodz, Poland—Infosys BPO Poland has signed a 10-year lease agreement with Skanska Property Poland for more than 226,000 square feet of office space in the Infosys Green Horizon office complex in Lodz, Poland.

According to the Cushman & Wakefield, which represented Infosys in the transaction, the agreement marks the largest transaction in the history Lodz office market. It was also the largest lease deal Polish office market thus far in 2014.

Infosys BPO Poland already occupies the third floor of building B within the LEED Gold certified Green Horizon. The new lease extends through 2024.

“Infosys Green Horizon is proof that long-term cooperation based on dialogue and common values can be beneficial for both sides,” says Katarzyna Zawodna, president at Skanska Property Poland. “Our building was developed in cooperation with Infosys BPO Poland, and it is an excellent example of an office complex that is suitable for outsourcing companies. Furthermore, this long-term agreement proves that the project has met all of the client’s requirements, especially those regarding space flexibility.”

The transaction also marks the second record-breaking deal for Skanska in Poland in the past few weeks. Earlier in September, the company has signed a lease agreement with HP Global Business Center for an area of over 176,500 square feet of space in the Dominikanski office building in Wroclaw.

“The building has a superb location and is both comfortable and worker-friendly. In other words: it has proven its value. Another agreement with Skanska was the obvious choice”, adds Michał Bielawski, financial controller Infosys BPO Europe.

Infosys BPO Ltd., the business process outsourcing subsidiary of Infosys Ltd., was set up in April 2002. Aside from Poland, the firm operates in India, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica, the United States, Puerto Rico, China, the Philippines and Australia. As of March 31, 2014, the company employed 28,581 people.
