The Goodman Group has signed leases with two tenants at Landport Logistics Estate: Leyou Chain Store which will occupy 247,570 square feet and SF Express, which signed up for a total of 193,750 square feet in Tianjin, China.

Goodman is an integrated property group comprised of Goodman Ltd., Goodman Industrial Trust and Goodman Logistics, with operations throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe, the United Kingdom, North America and Brazil. At present, the company is expanding its footprint in China with developments underway in several key cities.

The group acquired Tianjin Landport in April 2012 to place a premier logistics park close to Tianjin’s major transportation hub. The Estate is strategically situated in the Landport Logistics Park, the Beichen District of Tianjin which is midway between Beijing and Tianjin. The location of the site enables for outstanding connections to major highway and transport networks with access to the city, as well as the northern and southern regions of the country. The development provides eight single-story standard warehouses to be built in three phases. Goodman has now commenced construction of phase two that will provide around 494,063 square feet of new space, according to a written announcement released by the company. Phase one was completed last year and comprises 635,727 square feet. Upon completion, the entire development will provide more than 1.75 million square feet of logistics space.

Leyou Chain Store Co. Ltd, a multi-channel retailer of baby and maternity products currently runs 60 stores in Tianjin, one of its fastest growing markets. The company is currently focused on expanding presence in Eastern and Western China and signed an agreement with Goodman for 247,570 square feet. The purpose of the warehouse space at Landport Logistics Estate will be to service the 60 Tianjin stores. The retailer has committed to half of the square footage in phase one and pre-leased further 123,785 square feet in the upcoming phase two of the development.

SF Express initially signed up for around 65,000 square feet but recently completed the agreement with 129,167 square feet. The new space will facilitate the ongoing expansion of the logistics distribution and express delivery services provider’s network in China and meet its growing warehousing needs in the region.
