Investment Volume Off in 2017

Across all major regions, investment volume has been down each quarter this year compared to the same quarter in 2016, according to Real Capital Analytics data.

Investment volume across the nation is on track to be down from 2016 levels, according to Real Capital Analytics data. While overall volume has been increasing every quarter this year, following a major drop from fourth-quarter 2016 to first-quarter 2017, it has still been been down in each quarter this year compared to the same quarter last year. Third-quarter 2017 volume totaled $117.6 billion, compared to $120.9 billion in third-quarter 2016. Fourth-quarter 2017 data through Nov. 30 suggests the same story, with volume at $66.9 billion.
