Hitachi Vantara, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd., has leased a 222,500-square-foot building at Irvine Co.’s Santa Clara Square, a mixed-use destination in Santa Clara, Calif., which offers office, retail, restaurant and soon a residential component.
The company will relocate its headquarters from a 30-year old building at 2845 Lafayette St. to the newly built office asset at 2535 Augustine Drive. In September, Hitachi Data Systems, Hitachi Insight Group and Pentaho were consolidated into Hitachi Vantara, which will have its name showcased atop the building.
Our new headquarters will help us build our brand, enhance our recruitment efforts and inspire our employees to innovate and win,” said Brian Householder, president & chief operating officer of Hitachi Vantara, in prepared remarks. “Santa Clara Square offers incredible indoor and outdoor workspaces, and our employees are especially excited about the on-site amenities including shopping, dining and outdoor meeting possibilities.”

Designed by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, Santa Clara Square boasts modern architecture with floor-to-ceiling glass, natural lighting and efficient floor plans for future tenant flexibility. Other tenants include AMD, Cambridge Industries Group, Ericsson and Veritas Technologies. Tenants have access to the following amenities:

- bike share program
- on-demand transit partnership with Lyft

Encompassing 80 acres of open space and parks, Irvine Co. will be adding an apartment community totaling 1,800 luxury homes in mid-2018. The community will offer residents access to a three-acre park, in-line shops and salt-water pools. Santa Clara Square’s Main Street will also gain an additional 40,000 square feet of retail and services that will become the community’s town center.
Last September, Irvine Co. and Pei Cobb Freed & Partners worked together on the company’s 400 Spectrum Center, an office building in Irvine, Calif., located within the 1.2 million-square-foot live-work-play community Irvine Spectrum Center.
