Under Maloney’s leadership, JLL’s retail business has evolved to meet changing investor needs and shopping preferences. After becoming president & CEO in 2002, Maloney transformed JLL’s retail portfolio from a mostly mall-managed business. When he began, 20 malls were under management. The portfolio now includes more than 500 malls, lifestyle centers and open-air centers. He also expanded both the retail capital markets and retail brokerage businesses.

New leadership

“I’ve been in the retail business for the last 45 years and have led JLL’s retail property management business for over 20 years, so it’s time to welcome new ideas and a new leader,” Maloney told Commercial Property Executive. “I am thrilled that my longtime partner Kristin Mueller will be taking this position. She is an exceptional leader and I am confident that I am leaving our clients, industry and team in great hands.”

In her new role, Mueller will work alongside Naveen Jaggi, president of JLL’s Retail Advisory Services. They will oversee growth for new businesses, management, leasing and client satisfaction. Before becoming COO, Mueller worked on Retail Property Management for more than 20 years and progressed through roles including general manager, regional manager and lead of business development.
