Chicago—White Lodging, a fully integrated hotel ownership, development and operations company focused on developing and operating premium-branded hotels across the U.S., has appointed a new senior vice president & CFO of its management division.
Ken Barrett brings more than 24 years of experience in the hospitality industry to White Lodging. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and payroll departments, internal audit, as well as the asset management and business intelligence departments.
Prior to joining White Lodging, Barrett served for 10 years as senior vice president of asset management for Chicago-based Strategic Hotels. He previously worked as Regional Controller & Director of Accounting for the Americas with IHG, and as Regional Controller in Interstate Hotels’ Crossroads Hospitality division. Throughout his career, Barrett has worked with major hotel brands such as Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, InterContinental, Four Seasons, Fairmont and Loews. Over the years, Barrett has gained both domestic and international hotel management experience in finance and hotel operations with both branded and independent properties.
“It was the people of White Lodging who sold me on this position, and I think that’s important to be successful in an executive role,” said Barrett in a prepared statement. “All goals we have set for White Lodging will be achieved through the people. I thought they were great before, I think they’re greater now that I’ve met them since beginning my position. All value from an asset comes from within.”
