Knoebel Construction has finished work on the 50th store it has constructed for Altar’d State, in the southern Denver suburb of Lone Tree, Colo. The general contractor began working with the fashion retailer in 2012 during a rapid expansion phase, delivering customized stores across 26 states.

The Lone Tree location at the Park Meadows Mall sits near the intersection of Interstate 25 and Colorado Route 470 and is accessible via Denver’s light rail network. The 6,088-square-foot property features design elements reflective of the mountain landscape of the area. Each store is designed differently based on its surroundings.

“Our goal is to create a brand that represents the local community,” said Mary Beth Fox, chief branding officer for Altar’d State, in prepared remarks. “Every store is like a custom home, specific to the market.”

As many retailers are scaling back operations nationwide, Altar’d State continues to grow its footprint. Since its founding in 2009, the company has expanded to nearly 1,500 employees and currently operates 89 locations across 27 states, including one other Denver location, at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center. Knoebel is in the process of finishing four additional properties in Ann Arbor, Mich., Madison, Wis., Omaha, Neb. and Pittsburgh.
