Savills Studley has completed a lease expansion and relocation of law firm Michael Best & Friedrich LLP. Starting February 2019, the company will occupy 30,404 square feet, combining two local operations on the fourth floor of 1000 Main at The Wharf in Washington, D.C.

Developed by PN Hoffman, the new office will bring together Michael Best’s DC legal practice and the firm’s government relations and public affairs consulting group. The space will feature single-sized offices, modern finishes, state-of-the-art conference rooms, 10-foot floor-to-ceiling windows and flexible and collaborative work areas. The 11-story trophy building will also offer tenants access to amenities including a spa-quality fitness center, a conference facility, a 9,000-square-foot rooftop terrace and event space.

Savills Studley’s Vice Chairman & Co-Regional Manager Ben Plaisted, Corporate Managing Director Greg Scheipers and Associate Director Mordecai Scott, represented the tenant in the leasing deal. The landlord was represented by JLL’s Managing Directors Brian Dawson and Amy Bowser.

“Newly constructed properties continue to be in high demand for law firms considering a move,” said Scheipers, in a prepared statement. “With its close proximity to Capitol Hill, prominent waterfront location and modern amenities, The Wharf provides an ideal new home.”
