Layher North America purchased a 36,814-square-foot warehouse and office facility in the Dundalk submarket of Baltimore County, where it plans to relocate its northeast region branch, currently located on Lake Drive. Transwestern closed on the $2.5 deal on behalf of the buyer.
The company expects to move its assembly, distribution, storage and support operations to the new location at 7014 E. Baltimore St. by the end of the year. Running new engineering activities is also part of Layher’s plan. The single-story building features 18-foot ceilings, a surface parking lot and a large storage yard area, on par with Layher’s needs. The six-acre site is part of a dynamic industrial area, close to interstates 95 and 695 and less than 10 miles from downtown Baltimore.
“We were attracted to the building’s prime location near convenient highway systems and its relatively close proximity to our former site, which will minimize disruptions to our employees and customers,” said Frank Frietsch, CEO & executive vice president of Layher, in prepared remarks.
A team made up of Herbert Burgunder, member of Pessin Katz Law, and Transwestern Vice President Brian Siegel represented the buyer.
