Worldwide provider of logistics, transportation and supply chain solutions Logistics Plus Inc. has opened its latest warehouse property in Phoenix. Located adjacent to the Luke Air Force Base, the building totals 542,000 square feet of logistics space.

The property will offer ready-access and affordable warehousing for West Coast imports and exports, as well as storage for Southwest needs. Regional Director of Sales and Operations Tom Kelly will oversee building operations.

According to a prepared statement by Kelly, a portion of the asset will be leased by current Logistics clients from the technology and solar sectors. This will mark the company’s second-largest commercial facility. Some property features include a 40-foot clear height, 409 standard parking spaces, 316 trailer parking spaces, 108 9-foot by 10-foot insulated dock doors, four 12-foot by 14-foot grade level doors, ESFR sprinklers and an 8-foot reinforced floor slab thickness.

Logistics Plus also has warehouses in Southern California, Chicago, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Dallas, Charlotte and New York. With this newest asset, the company’s portfolio nears 5 million square feet of industrial space across the U.S., with additional properties in Europe, Africa, Asia and South America.

“Warehousing capacity is tight on the West Coast, and costs are high,” Yuriy Ostapyak, COO for Logistics Plus, told Commercial Property Executive. “The new Logistics Plus Phoenix facility is sizable and well-located to provide a reasonable inland alternative for our customers with southern California imports and those needing southwest regional distributions.”

Earlier this month, Lincoln Property Co.’s Southwest arm LPC Desert West, purchased 140 acres of land to build a $515 million industrial project. That project will also be located within close proximity to the Luke Air Force Base.
