Marriott Hotel Opens in San Diego
The 222-key TownPlace Suites is located close to San Diego International Airport and the downtown area.
Marriott has opened a brand-new hotel in San Diego dubbed TownPlace Suites by Marriott San Diego Airport|Liberty Station. InterMountain Management will manage the property, which was developed by The Corky McMillin Cos.

The 222-key, all-suite hotel is close to San Diego International Airport, Liberty Station and the downtown area. Located at 2311 Lee Court, the property houses studio, one- and two-bedroom suites. Guest amenities include Wi-Fi, kitchenettes, outdoor patio with grills, 24-hour fitness center, laundry facilities, daily hot breakfast and shuttle service to downtown, Liberty Station, San Diego International Airport and Old Town.
In April, Marriott opened a 104-key SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Tifton, Ga. That property is located near the Georgia Museum of Agriculture, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and the University of Georgia Tifton Campus.
California hospitality
Earlier this year, S.D. Malkin Properties landed a $155 million construction loan to build two oceanfront hotels in Oceanside, Calif., a suburb of San Diego. Located along Mission Avenue and North Pacific Street on a 2.8-acre site, the hotels will be operated by Destination Resorts and Joie de Vivre.
The first hotel will have 226 keys and will include a restaurant, lounge, swimming pool, spa and more than 20,000 square feet of meeting space. The second property will feature 161 keys, a rooftop pool and bar, restaurant, public garden and 3,000 square feet of retail space.
