The 310-key Tampa Marriott Westshore has relaunched in Tampa, Fla., following a $20 million complete renovation of rooms, common areas and the property’s meeting space. Columbia Sussex Corp. owns and operates the 13-story hotel, which was built in 1981.

Located at 1001 N. Westshore Blvd., the hotel is situated near the intersection of Interstate 275 and Florida Route 60, ensuring convenient access to Tampa International Airport, which is approximately two miles away, and downtown Tampa—four miles to the east. The Marriott is also within a mile of WestShore Plaza, a 1.1 million-square-foot indoor mall, offering numerous shopping and dining options.

Technology-based amenities

The newly renovated hotel features a range of guest amenities, including a 24-hour fitness center, an indoor/outdoor heated swimming pool, complimentary Wi-Fi and an airport shuttle. The structure also includes more than 13,000 square feet of event space, spread across 18 connectable meeting rooms. Many of the building’s new features are the results of new technology implemented throughout the property, such as mobile key entry.

“Through thoughtful offerings such as mobile check-in or mobile key entry on rooms, guests have even more control over their experience,” said Tina Smith, the general manager of the property, in a prepared statement.
