Meet Skanska’s New EVP of Operations in the Southeast
Skanska USA has promoted Scott Cannon to executive vice president of operations for Georgia and South Carolina.
Scott Cannon, a Georgia native, has been tapped as the new executive vice president of operations for Georgia and South Carolina. He brings more than 19 years of construction experience to the role, having spent his entire career with Skanska. He has been promoted from his former position as senior vice president of Skanska’s San Antonio, Texas operations. In his previous role, he collaborated on projects such as Skanska’s Tri-Service Research Laboratory and the Ambulatory Care Center at Lackland Air Force Base, both located in San Antonio. Cannon received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
In his new role, Cannon will oversee all office functions in Georgia and South Carolina, including the implementation of management control systems, the preparation of value management studies, project cost estimates and field activities. “His diverse experience in construction aligns well with the market sectors that we are targeting for growth in Georgia and South Carolina, which include healthcare, higher education, corporate, mixed-use, manufacturing and industrial, ” said Scott MacLeod, co-chief operating officer for Skanska USA Building.
Skanska has worked on several large-scale projects in Georgia, including Philips Arena, Georgia Dome, Piedmont Hospital, Grady Hospital, The High Museum of Art and Atlanta Marriott Marquis. The company’s investment in Cannon signals plans for continued growth in the Southeast.
