Miami–Ernst & Young LLP (EY) and Regus have signed on as anchor tenants for 2 MiamiCentral, the office tower at MiamiCentral, the new 11-acre mixed-use development in the heart of Downtown Miami and future home of the Brightline train service.
“EY and Regus have recognized the tremendous benefits that 2 MiamiCentral will offer to them and that these benefits become competitive advantages when looking at the ability to attract and retain a diverse workforce from the tri-county area,” John Guitar, MiamiCentral and Brightline senior vice president of development, told Commercial Property Executive. “They are early adopters as they were able to quickly recognize the vision of what we are trying to achieve and signed on more than 18 months prior to the building being finished.”
Overall, the office tower includes 190,000 square feet of Class A office space, combined with a range of sought after amenities and unique features. EY will move its Miami office to 2 MiamiCentral and has leased approximately 23,000 square feet of space spanning two floors. Regus has leased an entire floor.
“The fact that there will be a transportation system built into the building has tremendous appeal as it is an absolute game changer,” Guitar said. “Tenants in the building will have access to multiple forms of transportation with our Brightline train service to Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, as well as access to MetroRail, MetroMover and TriRail.”
2 MiamiCentral’s office space will begin 120 feet above street level to accommodate the raised Brightline train platform and include a plaza level featuring a fitness facility, conference center and open-air terrace available exclusively for tenants and their guests.
According to Guitar, MiamiCentral offers residential units, plus retail and a food and beverage marketplace, so everything is built in and has tremendous appeal for organizations that want to be in the heart of Downtown Miami with immediate access to a range of amenities.
Blanca Commercial Real Estate is the leasing agent for the commercial space within MiamiCentral.
In addition to the anchor tenants, Florida East Coast Industries will relocate its headquarters from Coral Gables to the building.
Two MiamiCentral is scheduled to open in 2017.
