Mondelez International Moving HQ to Downtown Chicago
The company has leased an entire office building from Thor Equities in the Fulton Market neighborhood and will be relocating from Deerfield, Ill., once construction finalizes.
Snack-maker Mondelez International has entered a long-term lease with Thor Equities and will be moving its Deerfield, Ill., headquarters to downtown Chicago once construction at the building finalizes. The firm will occupy all 77,100 square feet of office space at 905 W. Fulton Market as well as 6,150 square feet of retail space. Cushman & Wakefield’s Managing Director Mark Baby and Director Ben Cleveland represented the landlord in the office lease while Thor’s Vice President of Leasing George Stanchfield directed the retail leasing in-house.
The mixed-use project is located at the corner of North Peoria Street, two blocks away from Google’s office building and three blocks away from McDonald’s headquarters. Thor broke ground on the development in the summer of 2018 and expects to deliver it during the next months. The upcoming five-story asset features three distinct facades, contiguous floor plates, a landscaped terrace and green roof. It also includes 300 feet of retail frontage. The transaction will leave 10,000 square feet of retail space available in the building.
Fulton Market has been rapidly transforming from an industrial area into one of the most popular locations for office and retail companies. The neighborhood has recently become home to ACE Hotel, Beatrix, Shake Shak as well as a number of retailers which include Aesop, Free Pople, Lululemon and Anthropologie.
