New Embassy Suites by Hilton Breaks Ground in San Antonio

Construction of the 203-key asset is expected to take 18 months, with the hotel scheduled for delivery by summer 2018.

San Antonio—Zachry Hospitality announced it has broken ground on a new Embassy Suites by Hilton at 5615 Landmark Parkway, at the southeast corner of I-10 and Loop 1604.

“The Zachry family of companies has a long history with San Antonio. This is where we were founded in 1924 and today we are building upon that foundation,” Robert Thrailkill, vice-president of Zachry Hospitality, said in a prepared statement. “This expansion will not only provide additional guest rooms in the area, but it will also allow us to grow our hospitality portfolio, creating new jobs and expanding our dedication to the city’s growth.”

Upon completion, Embassy Suites by Hilton San Antonio Landmark Centre will comprise 203 all-suite guest rooms, 7,800 square feet of flexible meeting space, a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool and fitness center.

The new facility will serve several growing corporate campuses including Valero Energy, NuStar, Security Service Federal Credit Union, Medtronic and USAA. The Shops at la Cantera, The Rim, Six Flags Fiesta Texas and University of Texas San Antonio are also nearby.

“My grandfather had the initial vision of building high-quality hotels centered on the premise of unmatched guest service. We are proud to be expanding on this tradition,” added David Zachry, president & CEO of Zachry Corporation.

General contractor Zachry Construction Corp., a subsidiary of Zachry Corp., will handle the construction that is slated for completion in the summer of 2018. Zachry Hospitality announced plans to hire an initial 85 employees to work on the property.
