New York—Three years after the start of construction, InterContinental Hotels Group announced the opening of Holiday Inn Brooklyn Downtown. Owned and managed by New York Hotel Management LLC, the newest hotel of the famed hospitality chain features 245 guest rooms and suites plus a penthouse offering stunning views of the borough.
Interior designer Andres Escobar is behind the stylish hotel which features lots of natural light and natural décor elements such as living green walls and a glass-enclosed greenroom common area. Holiday Inn Brooklyn also offers a 2,500-square-foot flexible meeting space, a business center and a 24-hour fitness center. Guests can take part in fitness classes and personal training sessions offered by wellness and lifestyle company Urbn Playground, a partner of Holiday Inn.
Guests looking for relaxation can take advantage of the hotel’s spa, complete with a heated indoor pool, hot tub, shower, sauna and steam room. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be served at Brasserie Seoul, a Korean and French cuisine restaurant established inside the property.
The 14-story Holiday Inn Brooklyn Downtown is located in the vicinity of the Barclays Center, Brooklyn Academy of Music and Metro Tech Center, and adjacent to IHG’s Even Hotel, which is scheduled to open later this year.
“Development in Downtown Brooklyn continues at a record pace, drawing an ever-increasing number of business and leisure travelers to the area and growing the demand for lodging. We strongly believe that our property’s contemporary design, welcoming service and family-friendly programs and amenities will make the Holiday Inn Brooklyn Downtown a favorite among travelers to the area,” Seen Kei Chiew, asset manager at Holiday Inn Brooklyn Downtown Hotel, said in a prepared statement.
The hotel’s lighting system is LED, with guest corridors, bathrooms and offices complete with motion sensors to conserve energy when not occupied. Holiday Inn Brooklyn Downtown is part of the IHG Green Engage program, which helps minimize the building’s impact on the local environment.
