New Home2 Suites by Hilton Debuts in Chicago
Akara Partners developed the 17-story property, which features 206 guestrooms and 5,000 square feet of retail space. This marks the opening of the brand's 300th location.
Hilton has opened Home2 Suites by Hilton Chicago River North, a 206-key hotel developed by Akara Partners. The hotel marks the company’s 300th asset. NORR Architects designed the hotel, Mortenson developed it, while Aimbridge Hospitality is in charge of management.
Located at 110 W. Huron St., near Navy Pier in downtown Chicago, the hotel offers convenient access to Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, various shopping, dining and entertainment venues, as well as major transportation options. Additionally, other Hilton hotels, such as Hilton Garden Inn Chicago Downtown, Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown and Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago Downtown, are nearby. O’Hare International Airport is approximately 17 miles away.
The 17-story development features a Spin2 Cycle—a combined laundry and fitness area, a 24-hour Home2 MKT store, a business center and meeting rooms. Additionally, the pet-friendly property includes 5,000 square feet of retail space.
“Chicago’s booming tourism industry has allowed our brand to expand and become a home away from home for visitors to the Windy City,” Adrian Kurre, global head of Home2 Suites by Hilton, said in a prepared statement. “The hotel is well-suited for both leisure and business travelers thanks to its value-added offerings and close proximity to Chicago’s world-famous dining, shopping and attractions.”
According to data provider Yardi Matrix, the metro added 3,200 new jobs in the leisure and hospitality sector, a sign that tourism plays an important role in Chicago’s economy.
