Newmark Knight Frank Expands Chicago Capital Markets Team
Executive Managing Director James Postweiler and Senior Managing Directors Peter Harwood and Derek Fohl specialize in office investment transactions for institutional, corporate and private real estate owners throughout the Midwest.
Newmark Knight Frank has expanded its capital markets team in Chicago, adding Executive Managing Director James Postweiler and Senior Managing Directors Peter Harwood and Derek Fohl. Each of the three members specializes in office investment transactions for institutional, corporate and private real estate owners throughout the Midwest.
Postweiler, Harwood and Fohl previously worked for JLL. Postweiler was the former co-head of JLL’s office capital markets group on Chicago, specializing in suburban investment. Throughout his 30-year career in real estate, he completed transactions worth more than $14 billion.
Harwood spent more than 20 years at JLL, working from the company’s Manhattan, London and Chicago offices. To join NKF, Harwood left a managing director position, where he also specialized in transactions involving suburban properties having completed more than $12 billion of transactions.
Fohl has been working for a number of companies for the past 14 years since he started his real estate career: JLL (vice president), CBRE (senior associate), Next Realty (part-time associate) and Arthur J. Gallagher. A graduate of Indiana University Bloomington and DePaul University, Fohl has become an expert in Chicago-area office market, with more than $3 billion in closed deals.
