NexCore Opens Texas MOB
The company broke ground on the facility in 2022.
NexCore Group, in partnership with Texas Oncology, has officially opened Texas Oncology-Amarillo, a 50,000-square-foot comprehensive cancer center in Amarillo, Texas. Skiles Group served as general contractor and Perkins & Will designed the center.
The $31 million project was announced in August 2021 and the development broke ground in 2022. That same year, NexCore received a construction loan of $14.4 million from CIBC Bank USA, with a maturity date set for 2026, CommercialEdge data shows.
The single-story building came online on a 5.5-acre site. The facility provides various services such as medical oncology, hematology, radiation oncology, breast radiology, gynecologic oncology, surgical oncology and colon and rectal surgical services. NexCore Chief Development Office Todd Varney said, in prepared remarks, that the center will be able to host clinical trials and cancer research as well.
Located at 1826 Point West Parkway, the property has access to Interstate 40 and is 8 miles west of downtown Amarillo. The facility is surrounded by a variety of medical providers, including Legacy Square Professional Park, Amarillo Heart Institute, Northwest Texas Healthcare System and Amarillo VA Health Care System, among others.
