Southwest Transplant Alliance—a nonprofit organ recovery organization—has sold its 33,561-square-foot headquarters office building in Dallas to Fears Nachawati Law Firm, after almost 10 years of ownership. The seller will move to a new facility in the fall of 2020, a few blocks north of the current location.

Situated at 5489 Blair Road, the asset is close to several health-care providers such as Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, the Texas Institute for Surgery and Dallas Allergy and Asthma Center. The five-story building was completed in 1985 on a 0.6-acre site, is less than a mile from Highway 75 and roughly 8 miles north of downtown Dallas.

The buyer worked with Newt Walker of Newt Walker Co., while Senior Director Mike Gosslee from Cushman & Wakefield acted on behalf of the seller in the deal. Recently, another team from the same brokerage company arranged a 34,000-square-foot lease extension at the Mercantile National Bank Building in downtown Dallas.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Project and Development Services Group is in charge of Southwest Transplant Alliance’s new headquarters. The 77,000-square-foot facility’s central location will allow the company to decrease the time between organ recovery and preparation for transplantation, as well as receive donors from hospitals all around the state.
