Temecula, Calif.– The Pechanga Resort and Casino is due for a sizable expansion. Following a successful partnership with Tutor Perini Building Corp. on various phases of the resort, the Pechanga Development Corporation decided to award an expansion contract, estimated at $285 million. Completion of the resort’s expansion is slated for the end of next year.
Owned by the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians, the resort will expand with a new AAA Four Diamond facility. The new wing will include a 568-key hotel, a stand-alone luxury two-story spa and salon with 17 treatment rooms, a fitness center and hydrotherapy pool terrace, resort-style pool complex with eight pool areas, two restaurants, and 67,000 square feet of additional event space. Delawie is the architectural firm in charge of the expansion, and Lifescapes International will handle landscaping duties. The resort offers proximity to the Ultimate Interchange at the I-15 and Temecula Parkway, both of which were partly financed by the resort with $10.4 million.
According to Pechanga Development Corporation President Patrick Murphy, “Perini was the general contractor for the original Pechanga resort that opened in 2002. This development will complement our current offerings, enhance the resort experience for guests, and cement Pechanga Resort & Casino.” The expansion was first revealed back in 2014 when the estimated economic impact of the project was estimated at 3,000 jobs and $550 million in activity.
