Plaza Construction Expands in Central Florida

Plaza Construction Group Florida is expanding its reach in Tampa and Orlando with the opening of a new office in Central Florida. The firm has hired Todd Fultz as it new managing director. With more than 20 years of industry experience, Fultz specializes in the hospitality, corporate office, multifamily, retail, aviation, education and sports market sectors.

“We view the Central Florida market as having a lot of potential, not least because of its connectivity, world-class educational institutions and lower land costs compared to metro areas like Miami or Fort Lauderdale,” said Brad Meltzer, president of Plaza Construction Group Florida, in a prepared statement.

According to Dodge Data & Analytics, developments in Tampa are projected to exceed more than $12 billion. In Orlando, building constructions are also projected to total more than $19 billion. The area is also experiencing strong economic growth, benefiting from a highly educated work force.

Impressive Record

Prior to this role, Fultz acted as vice president for Manhattan Construction Co. and as a project executive for DPR-Hardin Construction. He has been involved in significant projects such as The Westin Hotel on Rocky Point, Parkside of One Bayshore, Grand Central at Kennedy, Kforce Headquarters, LakePointe II at Tampa Bay Park, Jesuit’s Hyer Family Park Baseball Stadium and Raymond James Stadium. 

Current projects under Brad’s leadership include the 63-story One Thousand Museum by Zaha Hadid Architects, Ritz-Carlton Residences Miami Beach, The Paraiso District in Edgewater, Biscayne Beach and Aventura Mall Expansion III.

In 2016, Plaza Construction hired Joe Cerri and Robert Thompson as vice presidents of its South Regional office in Miami. The two are also involved in the Ritz-Carlton Residences Miami Beach project.

Fultz serves as the chairman of the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors. He holds a B.S. from University of Florida’s M.E. Rinker Sr. School of Building Construction.
